Gifts for Dads Birthday

Finding gifts for dad's birthday can sometimes be very frustrating because you want to give him something that is unique, fun and useful. You want to give him something special that he'll use almost every day. Unfortunately, out of frustration we often purchase a tie or a shirt or possibly a generic gift card. In my opinion these types of gifts are purchased out of desperation and usually because people run out of time to purchase something for dad's birthday that he would really like so they just grab something, anything so they have a gift to give him on his birthday.
Hopefully in this brief article I can give you some ideas of unique and useful gifts that your dad will cherish and use for many years.

Look for birthday gifts that match your father's interest. Take a few minutes and really think about what thinks your dad likes to do?

Does your dad read? Most dads do! For many dads is one of the most enjoyable relaxing things that they can do in their spare time, but many dads also need to read books for the work that they do. Here is a little item that I own, as a matter of fact I own several and you'll find them all over my house because I love using them. It's called the PageKeeper automatic bookmark. This is a pretty cool little gadget and in my opinion is a perfect gift for a dad's birthday.

Because most of you have never heard of an automatic bookmark, let me tell you how the PageKeeper works. You simply slip the PageKeeper on the back of a hard or soft covered book and then you bring the spring to the front of the book were you going to start reading. Then as you start reading and turn from page to page the PageKeeper actually follows you as you read. If you drop your book or fall asleep while reading, your page is automatically marked. Does your dad enjoy gardening? What kind of gardening does he enjoy, vegetable or flowers? In this situation a gift card may not be a bad idea. If you give him a gift card from Home Depot, Lowes or even a gift certificate from a local nursery this would be a welcome gift for your dad. When you give him a gift card from one of these places it shows that thought and love was put in to gift buying process.

Here's another idea that is often overlooked when people look for a gift for dad's birthday. Most dads love to barbecue. Think about all the men that you know and then ask yourself how many don't like to barbecue? I don't think you'd find too many. There are many different kinds of barbecue sauces you can buy or maybe it's time for new barbecue utensils etc.
Another birthday gift for dad, is music. What kind of music does your dad like? This is another example where a gift card could be welcomed. It can be very difficult to pick out music that your dad would really appreciate. In this case he would probably enjoy picking out his birthday gift from a local merchant or even online.
